Templates
Email templates can be used to quickly generate email content for different scenarios and use cases. These templates can then be selected when sending emails through Seven20 components. These templates can be created and managed through the Salesforce interface, and can be further categorised through the use of folders, to further streamline a user's experience.
Standard templates
Standard templates are created through the Email Templates tab in Salesforce. These templates are created as HTML, and can be amended during the email sending process through a rich text editor. This allows for a more flexible approach to email content, however it does require some consideration during the design time to ensure that emails are rendered as expected. These templates support a subset of HTML elements and attributes, which are outlined here.
Classic email templates are not supported.
Advanced builder templates
The advanced email builder is a Salesforce tool which allows you to create email templates using a drag and drop interface. This is a great tool for creating email templates which have a more complex look and feel, as it supports any HTML and CSS which a receiving email client supports. This comes with the tradeoff that these templates cannot be amended during the email sending process.
Any images inserted to templates, regardless of type, must be publicly accessible.
Always send a test email to yourself for a new template to ensure it looks as expected.
