Location Services
Location services are required to facilitate the location based features of Seven20, such as radial candidate searches.
Salesforce geocoding
Salesforce features out of the box functionality for geocoding contact records based on their Mailing Address fields.
To enable this functionality, the Data Integration Rule for Geocoding contact addresses must be enabled. See here for details. A contact record has been successfully geocoded when MailingLatitude and MailingLongitude fields have been populated.
Ensure enough information has been provided to accurately geocode the address. For example a Town/City name is not necessarily unique, so a Postal/Zip code and Country code should also be provided if known.
Depending on the volume of records to be geocoded, this process can take a long time to complete.
Seven20 geocoding
Seven20 also features a geocoding service which is consumed during the candidate search process. This utilises the Google Maps Geocoding API to geocode addresses.
